As an artist and tinkerer of technology, I have a passion to research emerging technologies and platforms to create novel approaches between human-computer interaction. With a background in design, animation, and code, I’m able to help bring digital experiences to life.

I’m currently focused on leading design for a startup to build a suite of applications to help enterprises and organizations integrate data through graph databases in order to perform advanced data analytics and insights.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the pleasure to work on many projects for the world's leading brands.

- APPLICATION DESIGN -

FactGem Applications

My role as a lead UX/UI designer for FactGem is to with work with back-end engineers, front-end developers, and clients to figure out a simplistic approach to design the user interface of advanced toolsets to integrate large datasets and perform advanced data analytics. I lead the entire design approach from research, strategy, wireframe, prototyping, interface design, and documentation.

Over a five year period, I’ve constantly worked with the core team and clients to evaluate and introduce new features to improve the overall user experience. Some of the applications are shown below:

Customer 360

Customer 360 allows retail clients to discover and investigate new customer shopping patterns, basket trends, and in-depth insights by store and category. It serves as a multi-dimensional performance dashboard through a set of global and local filters for each component. Each component has a default overview section, but has additional features and views within their full-screen mode.

Each component was a collaboration with clients in the retail space in order to find a solution to help answer their weekly questions within seconds or minutes. I worked directly with each client to help research in order to lead design through concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and interface design. (2018-present)

Fraud Detection

Applicable to both financial and retail clients, the fraud detection application quickly identifies patterns of fraud hidden in phone numbers, e-mails, IP’s, contacts, and more across applications. The interface of the application was designed in collaboration with clients and their fraud departments from both sectors. (2018-present)

Basket Analysis

Applicable to product and service industries, the basket analysis application allows a user to explore top products or services by various metrics and instantly view the popular items that have been purchased with it.

The application was also designed in collaboration with an analysis team in the retail sector to identify the problem and quickly wireframe the best method to capture the necessary results within an easy-to-use interface. (2018-present)

FactGem WhiteboardR

FactGem WhiteboardR is a visual data modeling web application to create and deploy data models within a graph database. It was designed to be intuitive and easy to use without the need for a data scientist to assist in the development process. (2014-present)

FactGem MappR

FactGem MappR enables loading of existing, disconnected data and can also connects existing databases into a model created in WhiteboardR. (2014-present)

GraphBI

A Business Intelligence tool powered by graph database queries so users can easily create their own dashboards to share and also collaborate with colleagues. Other standard BI tools are not capable to fully utilize graph database queries and speed into their system. Inspired by specific features in some of those tools, I mashed some of those best features together to design a system to visually create queries that can be imported to create custom metrics, graphs, and a collaborative library that can be shared and administered across an enterprise network. (2019-present)

- PROTOTYPES & EXPLORATIONS -

Sherwin-Williams Store of the Future Concept

Utilizing a research paper called Touché from Disney. I was responsible for creating an interactive installation using Sherwin-Williams paint-cans as an advanced gesture interface. A user was able to touch a paint can label for product reviews, lid for product information, and handle to purchase. (2012)

Burton AR with Image Recognition

The Burton augmented reality prototype used image recognition to trigger an experience. In this case, the image represented one of Shaun White’s signature snowboard.

The AR experience showed a 3D avatar of Shaun White, a text area of his latest tweet, global position, and particle system representing weather of that area. (2011)

Face Tracking Makeup Prototype

I was exploring various face tracking methods and created a quick makeup prototype using Beyond Reality's Face for Flash. This prototype placed different images with blending modes onto specific positions of the face.

This allowed me to learn things to help improve future scenarios such as lighting, blending modes, etc. (2011)
